Responsory of Saint Anthony of Padua

If you ask for miracles, Death, error, all calamities, Leprosy and demons fly, And health succeeds infirmities. The sea obeys, and fetters break, And lifeless limbs thou dost restore. Whilst treasures lost are found again, When young and old thine aid implore. All dangers vanish at thy prayer, And direst need doth quickly flee. Let those who know thy power proclaim, Let Paduans say: These are of thee. Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit. As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen. V. Pray for us, blessed Anthony. R. That we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ.

"Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me."
